The Five Best Must-Visit Salt Lake City Brunch Spots in 2022

Breakfast is called the most important meal of the day, with the caveat that brunch is one of the most important meals of the weekend. A Saturday or Sunday brunch with friends and family is a fantastic way to kickstart your weekend, with the added bonus that it combines many other things we love – such as sleeping in, breakfast foods, a morning coffee, and time with friends. With that in mind, here are some must-see brunch spots for you to explore in 2022.

SLC Eatery

SLC Eatery is relatively new to the brunch game, only adding a brunch menu quite recently, but that doesn’t mean they don’t know what they’re doing! Probably one of the best restaurants in the state, SLC Eatery offers delicious brunch options crafted in a unique and exciting way.

They serve classics like scones and pancakes, but also more exotic options like breakfast bulgogi bowls and an okonomiyaki omelet. They also offer a healthy mix of classic cocktails like mimosas and Bloody Marys. So if you’re in town on the weekend and want to try this great place, make sure to head on down and get in line early!

Café Niche

Quite possibly one of the worst mistakes is to travel somewhere and to get the same food you could get anywhere else. So, to avoid that, consider making a trip down to Café Niche. They are one of the most popular brunch locations in Salt Lake City, and as such, you should come prepared with a reservation or willingness to wait in a bit of a line.

That being said, they have a great menu full of the breakfast classics. Some of the recommendations would be the huge French toast with the perfect amount of crispy and chewy, their biscuits and gravy slathered with cheese and jalapenos, and the corned beef hash made from local beef. If any of these attract your attention or you just want to get a good local flavor, come visit Café Niche!

OQUIRRH

Sometimes it’s good to get out of the comfort zone, to explore something new, and to try some really exciting food. Whether you’re a solo explorer or you’re going in with a team, OQUIRRH is a great place to try some truly, truly unique food. The current standard menu has some interesting treats, such as sweet (or savory) breakfast funnel cake, soft-shell crab Benedict, and lobster rolls.

What might be even more interesting is the seasonal rotations and specials they make to the menu, with items like a Calamari Breakfast Burger. If you’re not quite that adventurous, there are classic back-ups, like buckwheat pancakes, omelets, and more. So, if you want to take a step on the wild side for a brunch, and have a nice cocktail and some really interesting food, head down to OQUIRRH as soon as possible.

Tradition

When people call a place a tradition, they usually do so for a good reason. Likewise, this location is a tradition for brunch spots in Salt Lake City, and it is highly recommended that you call ahead, as a flock of locals is usually waiting. Tradition serves all of your breakfast classics, such as omelets, pancakes, waffles, and whichever meat is currently your favorite on the spectrum of breakfast meats.

In addition, what can make this a real treat are Tradition’s famous pies. Whether you leave with a slice or two for home or whether you eat it then and there depends entirely on how hungry you are, but make no mistake – Tradition is a fine brunch choice if you’re in the area!

Copper Kitchen

Some places on this list have distinguished themselves because they serve extremely creative versions of brunch foods or because the overall quality is just out of this world. However, a third way to get onto this list is to do one or two things very well. Copper Kitchen makes some of the best pancakes in all of Utah.

Not only do they have a solid selection of the items that you can put on a pancake, but the way they cook their pancake is absolutely amazing. They almost caramelize the edges of the pancake, giving it a bit of a crunch, while keeping the middle still soft and delicious. If you are a pancake fan, or if you want to try one of their other amazing dishes, please come on down.

Provisions

Provisions is a great choice if you are an out-of-towner, or someone hosting a few friends. Provisions is a good way to get an idea of the overall food scene in Salt Lake City, and to recognize it is well worth some visits during your time there.

Whether it is the pork ragu eggs or their biscuits and sausage gravy, Provisions has their own spin and take on brunch and they do it right! Little more needs to be said, so head on down and get yourself a spot reserved today!

Enjoy A SLC Brunch This Weekend!

Regardless of which of these locations you choose – or, let’s be honest, all of them in quick succession – you are sure to find an amazing brunch right here in SLC. However, food is only half of what makes brunch truly great. The other half (no, not the mimosas!) is the company, so don’t hoard these good eats all to yourself.

Use this as the occasion to hang out with some friends you haven’t seen in a while or that family member who always is cooking for you. Whoever you go with, bring some friends and make sure to experience a phenomenal meal in our fine city!
